Prisoners of Paradise Ending Explained and Movie Recap

I don’t think I’m the only one who’s a connoisseur when it comes to tragic love stories. Be it “Romeo and Juliet” or “West Side Story,” there’s something inherently magical about the kind of heartache a tragic ending leaves you with, something that lingers long after the story is over. Humans are somewhat designed to be doomed, and when we come across forbidden love, most of us run towards it, leaving rationality in the back seat. Mitch Jenkins’ period romance “Prisoners of Paradise” explores the idea of forbidden love between an affluent woman and a plantation worker. While the film doesn’t really manage to give much depth to any of its characters except Lucy (played by Ellie Bamber), it does manage to present an honest and believable love story which can bloom against all the odds.
